Persistence

Stick to it!

  • If I am faced with a challenge, I do not give up.

  • I can use my growth mindset and Power of YET when I am in the learning pit. 

  • When I am stuck, I can persist by using strategies like talking to my peer, using resources and trying again.

Striving for accuracy

Check it again!

  • I can strive for being accurate even if I do not achieve it the first time.

  • I can fact check and find ways to improve my learning. 

  • I can think and communicate clearly within my learning whilst setting high goals for myself.

Metacognition

Thinking about your thinking.

  • I can think about my learning and assess ways to develop my learning. 

  • I can think through a challenge by talking through my thoughts and reflect on new ideas and possibilities. 

  • I can ask questions when learning such as ‘what stands out to me?’ ‘What do I need to do to get the best results?’ ‘What can I use to help me solve this problem that I have used from past problems?’

Applying past knowledge to new situations 

Build on what you know! 

  • I can retrieve my prior knowledge and use it to build knowledge in new situations. 

  • I can make connections between past and new ideas to develop a deeper understanding. 

  • I can link my experiences in a range of situations in the classroom and beyond the classroom.
