Geography
At Manor Primary School, we strive to ignite a curiosity in children to discover the world around them. Our curriculum has been designed to enable children to explore a variety of places around our globe including the local area, other regions of the United Kingdom and places in the wider world. Through teaching and learning, our Geography curriculum provides children with skills for life.
Children will learn how to draw and interpret maps and to develop and lead their own research investigations. They will analyse data and grow their problem-solving skills. We encourage children to find their place and identity in the world as they mature into global citizens.
In Geography, we teach children what it means to be part of a multi-cultural society and celebrate cultures different to their own. Our curriculum motivates children to explore both the physical and human world, enabling them to recognise the importance of sustainable development for future mankind, understanding environmental problems at a local, regional and global level.
